Chronicles of American Women: Honoring the Lives and Legacies of Women

Welcome to the National Women's History Museum's new and improved Chronicles of American Women. This site is to honor the lives and legacies of women, living and dead-those whose individual and collective contributions have enriched our lives. With stories and pictures you can create a lasting memorial to a special woman in your life.

In the past, members were able to log in, create and edit their own pages. However, in our new streamlined version, members enter information and it is emailed to and posted by NWHM. If you want to make changes to an existing Chronicle, simply email with your edits, providing the name of the woman honored.

If you are already a member of the Museum, please click on Members: Create a Chronicle on the left. You will be prompted to enter your Member's Only password. After doing so, you will be able to enter information about a woman that you would like to honor and NWHM will post your Chronicle. If you have forgotten you password, please email with your membership number.

If you are not a member, please click on Nonmembers and you will be prompted to become a member of the Museum by donating before you can create a Chronicle.

Please note that the National Women's History Museum does not control, monitor, or edit the content of individual Chronicle pages, comments, or related material.  The Museum cannot vouch for the accuracy of the information contained within each Chronicle.  If you identify inaccurate or inappropriate content, please bring it to our attention via email at
